October's been pretty momentous around here. On the 1st, daughter Meg got her driver's permit. While we're not completely out of the teenage woods yet, she's growing up fast...helping with her sister, driving herself to school and beyond, and focusing on her future and the college she wants to attend (for now Longwood seems the front-runner).
She'a also taking all advanced Honors classes. Tough stuff, like Statistics, History, and other sundry subjects. Driving and boyfriends haven't flagged her determination, and she surprised us this nine weeks, coming home with Straight A's! Way to go Megster! What a super job!

Deeds is a Boat Anchor
From the WaPo's The Fix
Things are getting pretty bleak down at the Virginia Donkey Headquarters.
| One senior Democratic strategist who has closely followed the contest in Virginia said that the "chances are somewhere between solid and definite" that Deeds declining performance would hamper the party's chances of winning LG and AG races. Of those downballot contests, the source added: "They pretty much live in the shadow of the top of the ticket." |
I guess this is one disaster the Dems can't pin on Bush. How's that "McDonnell's a Nutjob" strategy working out for you, boys?
| It's that sort of Democratic doomsday scenario that is being floated in party circles as Deeds falls further behind McDonnell. "It looks very bleak for everyone,".... |
So....I guess the predictions of the Republican demise were a tad premature, doncha think? Hey Tim...how are you going to keep the country colored Blue when you can't even win in your home state?

Good Ole Country Whuppin'
It's looking worse each week for the Deeds camp. They have run an anemic, negative, whiney campaign that is short on substance and long on invective. The Obamachine is running away as fast as their little arms and legs will drive them (look for Deed's loss to be Bush's fault...the Democrats just inherited the mess in Virginia).
Virginia's stampeding from Bluish, beyond Purple, and onward to Red. This pretty much sums it up.
